Canadians expect their environment to be at comfortable temperature and humidity level and the air they breath to be free of harmful contaminants. In short they expect to “breath easy”. When these expectations are not met, complaints and symptoms of “sick building syndrome” start to appear. Employee productivity and morale suffers. Often times employers find themselves in contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA S.25 (2) h).
