Polychlorinated Biphenyls or PCB’s, by definition are “any
of several compounds that are produced by replacing hydrogen atoms in
biphenyl with chlorine, have various industrial applications, and are
poisonous environmental pollutants which tend to accumulate in animal
tissues…”
Legislation has been in place since the late 1970’s pertaining to
PCB’s. ECOH’s team is experienced in providing guidance to
clients on environmentally sound means of storing and/or disposing of
PCB’s, in accordance with all applicable provincial and federal
regulations. ECOH can offer a wide range of services regarding PCB’s,
such as:
· Survey for the presence of PCBs and the condition of the containers
therein.
· Development of a PCB Management Plan and training programs for
staff and contractors.
· Preparation of PCB storage room specifications.
· Preparation and review of contract documents for PCB packaging
for storage or disposal.
