Light BallastPCBs

Polychlorinated Biphenyls or PCB’s, by definition are “any of several compounds that are produced by replacing hydrogen atoms in biphenyl with chlorine, have various industrial applications, and are poisonous environmental pollutants which tend to accumulate in animal tissues…”

Legislation has been in place since the late 1970’s pertaining to PCB’s. ECOH’s team is experienced in providing guidance to clients on environmentally sound means of storing and/or disposing of PCB’s, in accordance with all applicable provincial and federal regulations. ECOH can offer a wide range of services regarding PCB’s, such as:
· Survey for the presence of PCBs and the condition of the containers therein.
· Development of a PCB Management Plan and training programs for staff and contractors.
· Preparation of PCB storage room specifications.
· Preparation and review of contract documents for PCB packaging for storage or disposal.

As part of our service to clients, ECOH will not only advise on the proper means of disposing or containing PCB’s, but we will also give clients a list of qualified and reputable companies that will perform these services.
