Mark Lai, B.Sc.
President
Mark Lai is the President of ECOH Management Inc. Mark is well known throughout Canada and abroad for his expertise regarding asbestos in building materials and other designated substances. Having managed some of the largest hazardous materials abatement projects in Canada, Mark has a proven track record spanning more than 20 years. His past experience includes senior management positions with a variety of national environmental consulting firms where he developed specialized divisions in hazardous materials, assessments and control. Mark is a gifted visionary, an excellent mentor and a superb manager of both large and small remediation projects. He has personally performed hundreds of multiple building surveys for asbestos-containing materials, other designated substances, mould and subsurface hazards. Because of the depth and variety of his experience, Mark has access to numerous resources and contacts, ensuring ECOH’s success with projects of virtually any magnitude.
Om Malik, Ph.D., P. Eng., C.I.H., R.O.H.
CEO & Principal
Om Malik is an internationally recognized expert with more than 25 years’ experience in environmental health and industrial hygiene. Prior to founding ECOH, he held senior positions with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, where he directed the control of hazardous materials in industries across the province. An expert in air quality sampling, and control of asbestos, mould and infectious materials, he has led development of international health and safety conventions as Chair of an International Labour Organization subcommittee representing over 100 countries. A winner of the Hugh Nelson award for excellence in industrial hygiene, Om is also an engaging and sought-after public speaker.
John Lewis, B.A., C.E.T.
Principal
John Lewis is a founding principal of ECOH Management Inc. with over 18 years of senior environmental consulting experience. John is a recognized expert in all phases of Environmental Site Assessments, contaminant hydrogeology, site decommissioning, and computer modelling. He has managed numerous large-scale environmental remediation and construction projects involving site decommissioning, landfill leachate monitoring, hydrogeology, and Site Specific Risk Assessments.

John P. Kocjan, B.E.S.
Senior Project Manager
John Kocjan is an experienced Project Manager with an extensive track record in managing complex environmental, health and safety projects for clients in the government, construction, industrial and real estate sectors. His experience includes management of numerous hazardous materials surveys and multi-million dollar asbestos surveys and abatement projects.
Lora Galvin, B.E.S.
Senior Project Manager
Lora Galvin is an experienced environmental practitioner with an in-depth knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislation and audit practices. A certified ISO 14001 lead auditor, she has served as Environmental, Health and Safety Director in private industry, where she was responsible for overseeing implementation of ISO 14001 audits, managing national environmental issues, and implementing a National Asbestos Management Program.
Rob Fernandes, B.Sc., C.I.H
Industrial Hygienist
Rob Fernandes is a skilled industrial hygienist who has supervised numerous hazardous materials surveys and abatement projects for a range of residential, industrial, institutional and government sector clients. The many projects Rob has undertaken include indoor air quality assessments, design and supervision of fumehood (perchlorate) removal, confined space assessments and programs, training programs, heat stress assessments, and major asbestos and mould assessment and abatement operations.
Nax Nagalingam, C.I.H., C.S.P.
Senior Industrial Hygiene and Safety Associate
Nax Nagalingam has been practicing occupational health and safety for over 30 years. Prior to joining ECOH, he held senior positions with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, including Provincial Coordinator of Industrial Health and Safety, Provincial Coordinator of Professional and Technical Services, Area Manager of South Western Ontario, and Supervisor of the Ministry’s air monitoring section.
Marianne Levitsky, M.E.S, C.I.H, R.O.H
Senior Industrial Hygiene Associate
Marianne Levitsky has more than 25 years experience in occupational health and safety, including leadership at the senior management level with major Ontario public sector organizations. She is an expert in industrial hygiene and health and safety policy and standards. She also has extensive experience in research, policy, performance measurement, social marketing, program evaluation, safety culture, and educational programs.
