ECOH Expands Service Offering in Nation Capital Region!

In response to our growing business in the National Capital Region and our commitment to providing the best service possible to our valued clients, ECOH has opened an office in Ottawa.

ECOH’s Office Manager in Ottawa, Matt Laneville, has 11 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in the National Capital Region. He is a skilled consultant with excellent client relations who has supervised, conducted and managed numerous hazardous materials surveys, abatement projects, environmental assessments and industrial hygiene assessments for a wide range of clients, from the oil and gas sector to the government sector.
An Ottawa native, Matt attended both the University of Ottawa to study Biology and Carleton University where he completed a Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies. While at Carleton, Matt had the opportunity to work for McGill University as a Research Assistant collecting data on Carbon Dioxide exchange between forests, peatlands and the atmosphere as part of the Mer Bleue – Fluxnet – Canada Site. Since graduating in 2007, Matt has been in the environmental consulting field where, he can use his knowledge of the natural and built environments and has undertaken numerous high-profile projects** that involved the removal or disturbance of hazardous materials.

Matt is an active member of the BOMA Ottawa chapter and the Ottawa Construction Association. When he’s not assisting clients with hazardous materials or environmental assessments, Matt can be found enjoying the National Capital Region with his young family or playing soccer/futsal.
ECOH’s Field Scientist Mike MacDougall hails from Nova Scotia where he received his Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick. Upon completion of his B.Sc. Mike spent time in Alberta where he was a wildfire fighter for the Province of Alberta. Since joining ECOH, he has completed numerous designated substance surveys in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Mike is experienced in asbestos abatement air monitoring.
ECOH’s bilingual Field Scientist Josh Filion is a native of Cornwall, Ontario. Josh received his Bachelor of Science from Bishop’s University. Upon receiving his degree, he worked as a Biologist and environmental educator for the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences. Prior to joining ECOH, Josh was a Biology Teacher at the Ontario Hockey Academy (a preparatory school for AAA Hockey prospects). At ECOH, he has undertaken numerous designated substance surveys in Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan and conducted asbestos abatement air monitoring.
ECOH Ottawa’s newest “ECOHite”, Marcus Membrere recently transferred from ECOH headquarters in Mississauga. Marcus is a native of Oakville, Ontario and completed his post-secondary education at Carleton University (https://carleton.ca/) in Ottawa, where he studied Earth Science with a concentration in Geophysics. Prior to joining ECOH, Marcus worked as a geological technician for a mineral exploration company located in Ottawa.
