ECOH is currently looking for an Experienced Mould & IAQ Professional to join our team. As an Experienced Mould & IAQ Professional, you will provide clients with a variety of consulting services involving indoor air quality and mould assessments. In this position, you will also be interacting with third party and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contract, federal, provincial, and local guidelines. 

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), designated substances and other hazardous materials.
    • Conduct/Oversee interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns.
    • Perform/Oversee inspections and evaluate building systems.
    • Conduct/Oversee sampling in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke, and fire.
    • Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to determine best strategies to get buildings dried, cleaned, or remediated and operational.
    • Collect a variety of air and bulk samples including mould, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, etc.).
  • Interpret laboratory results.
  • Air monitoring for asbestos and analysis by phase contrast microscopy (PCM). Training to be provided.
  • Other types of air monitoring, including RCS, Air-o-cell, CO2, Temperature and Relative Humidity, Lead, Asbestos, etc., as required on a project-by-project basis.
  • Assess building Surveys for asbestos, mould, and designated substances.
  • Collect comprehensive field notes and prepare detailed reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to address concerns.
  • Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos, and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed.
  • After-hours work and travel (at times out of province) may be required.

 Here are the job requirements:

  • A University degree or college diploma in Environmental Science, Construction or Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or related discipline.
  • Post-graduate environmental management certificate or equivalent would be an asset.
  • 2 to 8 years related experience in a similar capacity would be preferred.
  • Consulting Industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with building construction or maintenance is an asset.
  • Time and resource management- ability to multitask.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to be flexible with hours of work and client demands.
  • Ability to work effectively with fellow staff, project managers, senior management, and clients, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written/verbal English communications. 
  • Excellent attention to detail (required for field notes, reporting and data collection).
  • Valid driver’s license and adequate insurance is required (work related travel will be compensated).
  • General to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
